Andy Ruiz Jr. could return to the ring after just over a year and fight Deontay Wilder, who expressed his desire to face the best heavyweight boxers, after lost the WBC title to Tyson Fury.
In an interview with The Sun, “The Bronze Bomber” made his intentions clear and mentioned that he would also like to face the WBA,WBO, and IBF champion Anthony Joshua.
“Yeah. Any fighter at the top that people haven’t seen me fight and people want to see me fight is who I want to fight. I can sit here and name names all day, that’s the easy part.” Wilder said.
“I’d love to fight guys that I haven’t fought with, you know, the ones on top that I haven’t fought with. That’s what I want and I know it’s kind of silly, not to name a name. But anyone who have not faced at the top that’s you, so not Tyson Fury or Luis Ortiz.” Wilder added.
Wilder has tried to enforce another fight with Fury, and the American invoked his desire to complete the trilogy almost immedautely. However, the COVID-19 outbreak got in the way.
“I’m just going to the top. Once you go to the top and it’s someone I haven’t fought, that’s who I want to fight. I want to clean out this division period.” Wilder said.
Ruiz’s last fight was against Joshua , on December 7, 2019, at the Diriyah Arena in Saudi Arabia. He lost by unanimous decision to the British, who snatched the belts of the WBA, the WBO and the IBF.
The Mexican had a very special training a few days ago alongside Saul Alvarez , Ryan Garcia, Frank Sanchez and Oscar Valdez . Eddy Reynoso took a picture of the five boxers and uploaded it to his Instagram account.
