5 Important Moments of the Qatar MotoGP 2021

The Qatar MotoGP race in 2021, Monday (29/3), featured interesting moments from the start to the finish line. Here are five important moments of the Qatar MotoGP in 2021.

The first series of MotoGP 2021 was marked by the success of Maverick Vinales as champion. The Monster Energy Yamaha racer started from third and was knocked out of the top five.

Ducati’s appearance was stunning with a pretty slick start. Despite failing to put the riders at the forefront, there were at least two Ducati riders on the podium.

Meanwhile, Joan Mir almost got on the podium if the two Ducati riders didn’t beat him, and Valentino Rossi had to settle for bringing only four points.

Here are 5 important moments of the Qatar MotoGP in 2021:

1. Start Bullets for Ducati

Ducati motorbikes shot like bullets at the start of MotoGP in 2021. Red motorbikes dominated the start of the Qatar MotoGP race in 2021. Francesco Bagnaia, Johann Zarco, Jack Miller, and Jorge Martin immediately filled the first four positions immediately when the green light flashed.

Martin is the racer with the most impressive start because he only ranks 14th, but can climb to fourth place. Martin failed to appear consistent and finished 15th.

2. Drama Zarco, Bagnaia, and Mir

The defending champion, Joan Mir, performed quite consistently. Starting from the fourth row, Mir slowly entered the ranks of the front riders. The Suzuki racer even had time to break into second place but ultimately failed to get on the podium because he was overtaken by Zarco and Bagnaia.

3. Rossi recorded the worst achievement in the Qatar MotoGP

Valentino Rossi only finished 12th in the Qatar MotoGP in 2021. This result was the worst in his career at the Losail Circuit, apart from failing to finish in 2004.

Rossi, who started in fourth place, was immediately overtaken by Ducati riders and was in seventh position. Lap after lap passed, Rossi was unable to maintain his position, even being overtaken by Enea Bastianini, Stefan Bradl and Alex Marquez so that he was in 16th place before he could improve his ranking and win four points from the first series.

4. Consistency of Vinales

An imperfect start did not make Vinales lose his enthusiasm in the Qatar MotoGP 2021. Vinales step by step passed the riders in front of him including his teammate Fabio Quartararo.

Vinales’ golden moment was present on lap 15 when he was able to race Bagnaia. After that Vinales further moved away and secured his third victory in Qatar after the 2017 MotoGP and the 2012 Moto3.

5. The Petrucci incident

Danilo Petrucci only briefly participated in the Qatar MotoGP race in 2021. Not long after the start, Petrucci had an incident and his KTM bike was off the track.

The first incident in MotoGP in 2021 did not leave Petrucci badly injured. The Italian racer was able to immediately get up and stand up after the accident even though he could no longer drive a motorcycle that had fallen.
