Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola admired former Barcelona superstar Neymar as one of the best striker in the world.
Neymar enjoyed some of the best years of his career in Barcelona, forming the famed MSN trident, which consisted of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and himself.
During his time at Camp Nou, the Brazillian had scored a total of 105 goals in all competitions for Barcelona.
Neymar moved to the French capital as the most expensive signing in the world and there was huge excitement when he arrived in 2017.
“If Neymar stayed at Barcelona, they would have won two or three Champions League more. Him, Messi and Suarez were the best up front.” Guardiola said.
“He went to Paris, which does not look a bad decision. It seems like a nice club and a nice city from the outside. I am an admirer. He makes football a pleasure.” Guardiola added.
City will be trying to make their first-ever Champions League final when they travel to Paris to take on PSG on Wednesday.
Guardiola has insisted his side against PSG like a friendly and enjoy the pressure of facing last season’s runners-up.
“Enjoy the travel, the coffee in the terminal, the night and the dinner, watching the other semi-final, enjoy the press conference, the walk, the training,” Guardiola said.
“It’s almost impossible to control them during the full 90 minutes. We have to try to finish to review the team but the quality they have.
“We want to have the ball. If we have the ball in the right positions, you create stability in the team and that is what we will try to do tomorrow.” Guardiola added.
City defeated Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 to win the Carabao Cup. They have now won the competition 4 seasons in a row and have equalled Liverpool’s record of 8 titles.
