Manchester City Patience as The Main Key to Their Victory Over PSG

Manchester City reap the maximum results when undergoing the second leg of the 2020-2021 Champions League semi-final. Facing Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), The Citizens squad – nicknamed Man City – won a 2-0 victory over their opponent.

In the match that was played at the Etihad Stadium, early this morning, Man City was indeed impressive from the early minutes. Even Man City only needed 11 minutes to open up the advantage over PSG through Riyad Mahrez’s goal.

Jolted by the goal, PSG also tried to increase their pressure in order to equalize. Moreover, PSG itself is eyeing three goals to ensure they qualify for the 2020-2021 Champions League final.

However, a number of opportunities that PSG got to equalize still failed to score goals, due to poor finishing. The 1-0 position for Man City’s advantage over PSG also decorated the first half of this match’s scoreboard.

In the second half, Man City did get a lot of pressure from PSG. However, Man City’s defense still managed to stem all kinds of efforts made by the Les Parisiens squad – the nickname PSG.

Even in the 63rd minute, Man City managed to increase their lead to 2-0 through Mahrez’s brace. The 2-0 score for Man City’s victory over PSG itself was able to last until this match ended.

After the match against PSG, Man City’s mainstay defender, Ruben Dias, also gave his comments. The former Benfica player also mentioned Man City’s patience as the main key to their victory over PSG.

“A patient performance from us. We had to defend well, but we overcame everything they threw at us and deserved to be in the final. Being in the final feels amazing, ”explained Dias, as adapted from uefa.com, Wednesday (5/5/2021).

“We have a good balance. We stay as a team, it doesn’t matter who plays, me or anyone else. On the other hand, we have players who can injure opponents. “Good for Riyad Mahrez to get his goals,” he added.
