Neymar Jr. finally decided to continue defending Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) until June 30, 2025. The signing of the new contract had just been done some time ago, to be precise on Saturday, May 8, 2021.
In the announcement, it turned out that there was a secret that was not disclosed to the public. One of them is that PSG can retain Neymar until 2026 if the Brazilian player wants to continue playing at the club nicknamed Les Parisiens.
However, there are still other agreements that PSG and Neymar have not disclosed. The secret is related to Neymar making an agreement with PSG regarding his retirement.
So, according to a report from Football Espana, Tuesday (11/5/2021), there is a pension clause agreed upon by Neymar and PSG. The agreement allows PSG to allow Neymar to return to Santos if during his contract period the player decides to retire.
In the agreement, Neymar, to be precise, is likely to want to defend his old club, namely Santos, before deciding to retire. That way, it is possible that Neymar did not activate the option to extend his contract during his last 12 months at PSG.
Neymar already plans to only defend PSG until 2025, as announced to the public. After that or in 2026, Neymar intends to return to Santos to enjoy his retirement.
If that happens, it will be as if Neymar has decided to retire at the age of 34. Of course the news is quite surprising because usually a star player as great as Neymar is still playing at the age of 34.
