Ducati Lenovo Team rider, Francesco Bagnaia, finished fourth at French Grand Prix on Sunday. The rest of the racing at the Bugatti Circuit of Le Mans was long and fun, and Bagnaia kept gaining positions until he finished fourth and finished 1.7 seconds behind Monster Energy Yamaha rider, Fabio Quartararo.
With five consecutive races completed in the top-6, the Ducati rider is making consistency his dominances at the start of the season.
“I’m a little disappointed to finish fourth, but in the end I only lost 3 points on Fabio. I still don’t get used to being in these positions in MotoGP.” Bagnaia said.
“It’s good to be in front even after such a weekend, but I’m not really thinking about the title. I think things will start to take shape only after Misano.” Bagnaia added.
Bagnaia, who started with the sixteenth fastest time, had dropped back into nineteenth place on the first lap but, after the bike swap, he was able to rejoin in the eleventh position.
“The flag-to-flag was the first time for me! It wasn’t easy, but in a way, I enjoyed it. In the beginning, I didn’t feel completely comfortable on the bike, but in the wet, I was able to find my rhythm right away.” Bagnaia said.
“Finishing fourth in these conditions is a really good result, also considering that last year I was very slow in the rain. Now I am second in the Championship, just one point behind Quartararo, so I’m delighted.” he added.
On the other hand, Bagnaia’s team mate, Jack Miller, scored another sensational victory at 2021 French GP. That great performances pushed Pecco to surpass himself to join him in the winner’s circle.
“I’m happy to have Jack as a teammate because he pushes me to improve, and also because there are a lot of Ducati ahead. It’s stimulating and it also allows you to compare the data. It makes everything easier. Then, on the track we are all rivals, there are 21 ridersto beat.” Bagnaia said.
