Euro 2020 Results: England Win Group After Beating Czech

England managed to beat the Czech Republic 1-0 in the final match of Group D Euro 2020 (Euro 2021) at Wembley Stadium, Wednesday (23/6).

In the first half, England managed to take the lead through a goal scored by Raheem Sterling in the 12th minute. Sterling managed to score with a header after continuing Jack Grealish’s pass.

Since the first whistle sounded, the Czech Republic tried to put pressure on England in the first minute of the game. However, England got the first golden opportunity in the 2nd minute after Raheem Sterling’s lob hit the Czech goalpost.

England finally took the lead in the 12th minute through Raheem Sterling’s header.

In the second half, England took the initiative to keep the ball as long as possible. England played a quick game from foot to toe.

Meanwhile, the Czechs played more patiently while looking for gaps to send breakthrough passes in the England defense area.

In the first 15 minutes of the second half, the match was boring because there were no golden opportunities that both teams could create.

England seemed to reduce the tempo of their attacks, while the Czechs struggled to penetrate the England defense and it was difficult to develop the game.

Even so, the Czechs gave a threat through Tomas Pekhart’s hard kick which was still off the left side of the England goal.

England had added a goal in the 85th minute through Jordan Henderson’s flick, but the goal was disallowed by the referee because Henderson was judged to be in an offside position.

Until the game ended, no additional goals were created. England won over the Czechs with a score of 1-0.

This victory makes England finish at the top of Group D with seven points pocketed. England also has the right to qualify for the last 16 of Euro 2020 with the status of group winners.
