Pramac Racing’s Johann Zarco signs an excellent first part of the 2021 MotoGP season. So far, the French man scored four podiums, seven qualifications on the first two rows, and second place in the general classification 14 points behind the standings leader Fabio Quartaro.
Zarco has still not won a Grand Prix, but his consistency makes him one of the strong rider in the championship and he is the best Ducati rider, ahead of the two riderw of the official team, Francesco Bagnaia and Jack Miller.
“In my opinion, Zarco should not be taken as a surprise. He has been in MotoGP for many years, he had already done podiums, he has a factory bike. So I don’t see why it should be a surprise, he opines. What he does is great for Ducati too.” Bagnaia said.
“Clearly, he is an opponent for the world championship. But I find it normal that a rider with his experience and a factory motorbike is so high.” Bagnaia added.
Bagnaia also points out that after his first two complicated MotoGP seasons, in 2019 and 2020, the expectations were more on Zarco than on him.
“I would also like to remind you that at the start of the season, everyone relied more on Zarco than on me, everyone. In my opinion, the level we have at Ducati is very balanced.” Bagnaia said.
Zarco joined the small Avintia private team in the Ducati galaxy, landed a podium, and the 10th place in the world championship, which convinced the Italians to promote Pramac.
“I feel the Ducati has huge potential, I’m trying to do my best to use it every time better and better, and when all the situations are under good control maybe I will have the victory.” Zarco said.
