Everton attacking midfielder James Rodriguez has denied returning to Real Madrid this summer. James said he would not repeat the experience under Carlo Ancelotti, who is now in charge of Madrid.
Carlo Ancelotti has already returned to the Santiago Bernabeu, but James will not follow his former coach.
As is known, James has defended Real Madrid for six years, but two of them were on loan at Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga. At that time, he had worked closely with Ancelotti who was in charge of Bayern.
James left Real Madrid and joined Everton last summer. While at Everton, he was again brought up with Ancelotti.
In the 2021/2022 season, Ancelotti is back in charge of Real Madrid. From there, it sparked speculation whether James would return with Ancelotti to Real Madrid, or stay with Everton.
During a live stream on Twitch’s social media, James was asked by the audience about his fate this year with Everton, which is now under new coach Rafael Benitez.
“No, I don’t think so. This is a closed cycle now, which will not be repeated,” James said via Twitch live streaming, reported by Goal International, Saturday (31/7/2021).
“They ask me a lot of where I’m going to play. I don’t know, the truth is it’s quite a complicated matter. Let’s see what happens.”
“I don’t want to say yes and no, because I don’t know. I train well and hard. I don’t know what’s going to happen, I don’t know where I’m going to play. In football and in life we know nothing,” he added.
“I train hard, prepare well, train for myself, that’s all. You have to think about the present and the present is here, I am training hard for everything to come.”
The Colombian passport player has so far played in Europe’s top leagues. Such as the English League, Spanish League, German League, French League, and Portuguese League. Even so, he didn’t know where he was going. Although now he is still an Everton player, but it is possible to try the Italian League someday.
“I’ve played in all of them. I miss Italy, but I don’t know. That would be a great option, but in the future I don’t know if it will. I still haven’t done it. playing in Italy, it would be good to make that record.”
While the Spanish coach, Rafael Benitez, also hinted at the fate of James this season at Everton is still uncertain. Most likely he is needed to undergo the Premier League next season. But it does not rule out the possibility, James will be sold in the transfer market this summer.
