Norma Dumont will have the biggest challenge in her career. She will face former UFC champion Holly Holm at featherweight, in a fight scheduled for the UFC Fight Night 195 card, scheduled for October 16.
The 30-year-old woman already has three fights for the UFC, with two wins and one loss. She lost her debut, in February 2020, to Australian Megan Anderson, via first-round knockout.
But she recovered and scored wins against Ashlee Evans-Smith, on points, in November of the same year, at bantamweight, and Felicia Spencer, by split decision of the judges, in the return to the featherweight division, in Las Vegas, May 2021.
Dumont moved to Las Vegas and has been using the structure of the UFC Performance Institute to adjust the best weight, after failing at the weigh-in for the fight against Erin Blanchfield, in the bantamweight division, which ended up being cancelled.
She made he promotional debut on February 2020 at UFC Night 169 againts Megan Anderson. Dumont lost the fight via knockout in round.
Dumont made her sophormore appearance in the organization against Ashlee Evans-Smith on November 2020 at UFC.
“I would really like to fight popular athletes like Miesha Tate, who’s coming back now, Sara McMan, Raquel Pennington, Germaine de Randamie or Holly Holm,” Dumont said.
Meanwhile, Holm will be making her return to action for the first time since Oct. 2020 when she notched a decisive win over Irene Aldana. The American fighter was schedule to face Julianna Pena on May 8, 2021 at UFC. However, Holm was forced to withdraw from bout citing hydronephroses.
Holm employs frequent lateral movement while working stiff jabs to an opponent’s head. When standing within the pocket, she often waits to attack with counter-strikes, usually employing a straight left hand.
