Brazil’s head coach, Carlos Dunga has made a very bold decision to not include the trio: Silva, Marcelo and David Luiz in the Brazil’s Copa America national squad.
Those three senior Brazil’s defender were not included in the 40 names submitted by Dunga for the Brazil’s Pre-elimanation round of the America most glamour national tournament. However, despise of their absent in the list of the squad, the Brazil citizen was not surprised by Dunga’s decision.
The reason is that those three players were indeed never be Dunga’s favorite choicse in the Brazil’s national team anymore. The fact is that Silva was never played for the Selecao since 2015 Copa America.
Silva was reported to had an argument with the Selecao boss due to Dunga stripped of his captaincy armband and give it to Neymar.
Meanwhile, Luiz was out of the squad because of his series of bad performances in the 2018 World Cup qualification round of the CONMEBOL last month. Even though Luis was Dunga’s routine choice before the qualification.
The next senior player that was not included in the Copa America squad is Marcelo, the Real Madrid’s left back was never be Dunga’s favorite player in the left back post since he took over Luis Felipe Scolari. In total, Marcelo were only being called five times by Dunga and totally miss out all of Brazil qualification matches last month.
With this, there were all added to four senior players what were not in the Brazil’s squad for the next coming Copa America, the other player added to the list was Neymar, the Selecao captain was not in the Copa America pre-elimination squad because he will be playing in the Olympic games in the coming summer.
Meanwhile, three Brazil’s players that play in the Chinese Super League such as Gil, Renato Augusto, and Alex Texeira were all included in the current squad.
Brazil will join Ecuador, Haiti, and Peru in Group B. Their first match will be playing Ecuador in the 4th of June.
