Simeone praises Salah ahead of Atletico vs Liverpool

Simeone praises Salah ahead of Atletico vs Liverpool

Diego Simeone praised Mohamed Salah ahead of the Atletico Madrid vs Liverpool match in the Champions League, Wednesday (20/10).

In a press conference, Monday (18/10), Simeone gave his assessment of Salah which has recently received a lot of praise.

“Mohamed Salah is an extraordinary player and has been at a fantastic level for several years with Liverpool and the national team,” Simeone said as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

However, Simeone did not want his team to only focus on Salah. The reason, according to Simeone, what needs to be considered in the match later is Liverpool as a team.

“All I care about is Liverpool. Liverpool have great mobility and are not afraid to leave space at the back.”

“They have very fast players and they have Virgil van Dijk at the back, they have increased their solidity in defense and that is very important,” said Simeone.

Simeone also hopes his team can perform well and find the right ideas to make Liverpool suffer.

“What did I expect? A team full of good footballers with clear ideas, so we will try to find ways to hurt them.”

“Of course, we have to adjust the intensity of their game and look for our own chances and we will see what happens tomorrow,” said Simeone.

Simeone also hopes that all of his players are ready for the match and that the fans can be present at the stadium.

“We hope all the players are ready to fight and be ready for a fantastic match that will be filled with red and white shirts in the stadium,” said the Argentine coach.

“Don’t forget, the last time we played Liverpool in the Champions League, we won that game before it even started, I want the fans to remember that tomorrow.”

Mohamed Salah will be a serious threat to the opposing team at Atletico Madrid vs Liverpool. Salah is at his best. The Egyptian winger has been prolific at Liverpool at the start of this season.

Salah also just scored a classy goal in Liverpool’s 5-0 win over Watford in the Premier League last weekend. The record made the number of goals Salah has reached double digits.

Salah has appeared in 10 games for Liverpool since the start of the season. From that number of matches, Salah was able to score 10 goals which means an average of one goal per game.

Salah is not just keen to break into the opponent’s goal. This season, the former Chelsea and AS Roma player has also shown that he can be a team creator by providing four assists, all of which have happened in the Premier League.

Salah’s sharpness and creativity deserve Atletico to be careful. The defense of Diego Simeone’s team must be wary of Salah if they want to achieve good results in the match later.

Moreover, Liverpool also came with a mission of revenge. The Reds want to avenge the defeat that saw them eliminated by Atletico in the last 16 of the 2019/2020 Champions League last season.

Liverpool currently occupy the top of the Champions League Group B standings by collecting six points from two matches. While Atletico are right below the port city team with four points, followed by FC Porto and AC Milan.
