France Win 8-0 and Qualify for 2022 World Cup, Mbappe Quattrick

France managed to qualify after winning 8-0 over Kazakhstan in the 2022 World Cup Qualification continued which was colored by Kylian Mbappe’s quattrick.

There is an interesting story behind France’s landslide victory with a score of 8-0 over Kazakhstan. Mbappe, who scored four goals, managed to repeat the record of the former France national team striker in the 1960s, Just Fontaine.

The nick of four goals in one match for France made the 22-year-old player have a sweet record. Quoting OptaJean, Sunday (11/14/2021), Mbappe repeated the record created by France legend Just Fontaine who scored 4 goal in one game.

The story is, the France national team at that time was facing West Germany in the struggle for the third place of the 1958 World Cup. In that match, Fontaine managed to record four goals, followed by two goals scored by Kopa and Douis.

As a result, Les Bleus won third place after winning the match with a score of 6-3. The record is of course slick for an attacker. Now, Mbappe has managed to repeat it and does not rule out the possibility of being able to create more in the future.

Mbappe became the star of France’s victory in their success in qualifying for the 2022 World Cup at the Parc des Princes, Paris, Saturday (13/11). The Paris Saint-Germain forward scored four goals.

Mbappe had already broken into the Kazakhstan goal when the game had only been running for six minutes. The 22-year-old striker then added two more goals in the 12th and 32nd minutes to score a hat-trick and put France 3-0 up in the first half.

The French goal taps flowed more heavily in the second half. This time Karim Benzema managed to score two goals in the 55th and 59th minutes to change the score to 5-0.

France, who appeared dominant, then increased the score to 6-0 through Adrien Rabiot’s header in the 75th minute. Nine minutes later, Antoine Griezmann made the score 7-0 thanks to a goal from the penalty spot.

In the 87th minute, Mbappe who appeared impressive in this match carved a quattrick. Mbappe’s shot from inside the penalty box nestled into the Kazakhstan goal to make the score 8-0 which lasted until the second half was over.

An 8-0 win over Kazakhstan helped ensure France’s move to the 2022 World Cup which will take place in Qatar. Les Bleus qualify as group winners.

France managed to collect 15 points from seven matches in Group D of the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers. Those points will no longer be able to be pursued by Finland, who is in second place with one game remaining.
