Former AS Roma player, Daniele De Rossi, gave Jose Mourinho sky-high praise. According to him, Mourinho is the best coach for the Giallorossi – AS Roma’s nickname.
As is known, Mourinho has held the position as coach of AS Roma since the start of the 2021-2022 season. The cooperation between the Portuguese coach and Roma went very well.
Mourinho is able to bring Roma to look good in the 2021-2022 Italian League stage. In fact, Rome had lunch at the top of the Italian League standings for 2021-2022.
However, entering the 12th week, Roma’s performance fell to their position in sixth place. In fact, Rome had to swallow a humiliating 1-6 defeat of Bodo / Glimt in the European Confederations Cup.
Criticism also began to arrive for Mourinho following the poor results he achieved at this time. In fact, many people think Mourinho is not the right coach for Roma.
However, De Rossi has a different view. He defended Mourinho by saying that the former Real Madrid coach was the best tactician in the world and Roma would be satisfied with the result at the end of the season.
“Roma will be satisfied at the end of the season, if they don’t manage to push Mourinho against the wall too,” said De Rossi, quoted from Tribal Football, Sunday (11/14/2021).
“He is one of the strongest coaches around. Beyond aesthetic facts, the Special One is one of the strongest five-six coaches ever,” he said. “I have Roma in my heart but it’s better to watch from the outside now, I don’t want to put myself in Mourinho’s shoes, ” he concluded.
There are some people who doubt the ability of Jose Mourinho as AS Roma tactician in the 2021-2022 season. However, the former director of Rome, Walter Sabatini, believes that Mourinho can take I Lupi to the next level.
Sabatini believes Mourinho just needs more time to show his true abilities. He also considered the 58-year-old coach to develop Roma.
“Mourinho’s history speaks for him and Roma have to depend on their coach. The only thing they have to do is give Mourinho time because only he can take this club to another level,” Sabatini said.
Sabatini realized that Mourinho was not completely perfect. However, the 66-year-old believes Mourinho will soon make a difference for Roma.
