List of 11 FIFA Player of the Year nominees for 2021

FIFA has released the list of nominees for the best FIFA 2021 players including Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Here’s the complete list.

The FIFA Best Player Award is one of the most prestigious individual awards in world football. The trophy is a valid proof of the greatness of the player’s appearance in the past year.

The following is the list of nominees for the Best FIFA Player:

1. Karim Benzema

Karim Benzema appeared spectacular with Real Madrid as a goal machine. He was able to pour 30 goals plus nine assists in appearances for Los Blancos.

Benzema also performed well at Euro 2020 with a score of four goals.

2. Kevin De Bruyne

Kevin De Bruyne has once again proven himself as a general in the midfield for Manchester City. The Citizens won the Premier League plus the League Cup last season.

De Bruyne led Man City to the Champions League final but lost to Chelsea. De Bruyne suffered an injury and disrupted his form at Euro 2020.

3. Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to prove himself as a dangerous goalscorer. Ronaldo ended the season as the top scorer in the Italian League.

But Ronaldo failed to lead Juventus to Serie A champions and failed to bring Portugal back to glory in the European Cup.

4. Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland proved that he could consistently maintain his sharpness. Haaland can score a total of 41 goals in 41 games for Borussia Dortmund.

5. Jorginho

In terms of big titles, Jorginho successfully led Chelsea to win the Champions League. This success continued with Italy’s success in winning Euro 2020.

Jorginho has a good role as a midfield general behind these two successes. Jorginho has also been voted European Player of the Year.

6. N’Golo Kante

N’Golo Kante is Jorginho’s partner in the Chelsea midfield. Chelsea’s success in winning the Champions League cannot be separated from Kante’s greatness in midfield.

7. Robert Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski is the winner of the European Golden Boot with 48 goals throughout the season. Lewandowski’s appearance has made him one of the goal machines that continues to look savage despite his age.

8. Kylian Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe performed well with Paris Saint-Germain last season. He could be Ligue 1’s top scorer.

But Mbappe failed to bring PSG to the French League champions and PSG also still cannot triumph in Europe.

9. Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi got the long-awaited title in the form of the Copa America trophy for the Argentine national team. Messi has a vital role behind this success.

Despite failing to bring Barcelona to victory in La Liga and the Champions League, Messi has good statistics with a record of 38 goals.

10. Neymar

Neymar is one of the players who became PSG’s motor last season. Neymar’s movements are often the start of Les Parisiens’ attacks.

But Neymar failed to lead PSG to Ligue 1 champions and was unable to speak much in the Champions League. In the Brazilian national team, Neymar also had to settle for being the runner-up of the Copa America.

11. Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah has proven that he is consistent as a top player in the world of football today.

Salah remained an important figure at Liverpool last season with a collection of 31 goals.
