Antonio Conte Happy with the First Point with Tottenham

New Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte admitted he’s not disappointed with Spurs’ 0-0 draw at Everton on Sunday.

Conte was appointed at the beginning of the week, right after Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked after a 0-3 defeat to Manchester United at home.

However, it seems too early for the Italian coach to improve the problems that Spurs encountered at the most fierce league on the planet.

Tottenham could have won 3-2 over Vitesse in the Conference League midweek, but on his first day back in charge in a Premier League game, Conte’s side failed to get a shot in the right direction.

In fact, Giovani Lo Celso once sent the ball to Everton’s post, but that did not count as a right shot. So, since Opta released the statistics since the 2003-04 season, this is the first time that Totteham has faced this in two consecutive Premier League games.

“I’m not disappointed with the draw as we are just starting a new project. I only started working with my players on Wednesday.” Conte said.

“We had two very important matches and basically had good results. We have an important victory in the Conference League, as this is the tournament where we aim highest to bring satisfaction to the fans.

“Then playing at Everton is not an easy place. But at least, I’m satisfied when the players show a desire to fight, and this is the best sign.” Conte added.

Conte hopes next international break will give him more time to adapt to the new environment, and hopes for improvements. improvement for the year-end acceleration period:

“Usually I’m not satisfied after a draw, but at this point, an away draw is still a good result. We need a point to start.” Conte said.

“Now we need to stick to fourth place and compete to close the gap. Working together is the only medicine for us.” Conte added.
