AC Milan’s headquarters, the San Siro, is one of the biggest stadiums full of history. Many footballers want to appear at the San Siro Stadium, including Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp.
Even so, Klopp apparently never had the opportunity to simply set foot in the stadium controlled by Milan and Inter Milan. Now, Klopp’s dream will come true because Liverpool, who are members of Group B of the 2021-2022 Champions League, will soon travel to the Milan headquarters.
The Milan vs Liverpool match will take place at the San Siro, Wednesday 8 December 2021. Even though he has made sure to qualify for the round of 16 as group winners, Klopp wants Liverpool to continue to give the best results in the match.
Klopp also admitted that he was looking forward to the match. The reason is, this is the first time for the German coach to play a match at the San Siro.
“I can’t wait to play at the San Siro. I can tell you, it’s my first time,” Klopp said at his pre-match press conference.
Klopp also can’t wait for the competition that will be presented between the two best strikers in the world today. The reason, Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah will duel and pit sharpness with AC Milan star, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The 54-year-old coach believes that the competition that will be presented between the two players will be very interesting to follow. But Klopp said that they were not the only interesting thing to watch in the match.
“It’s not the first time we’ve played Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but it’s great to have players involved like Mo and him (Zlatan). Thank God they weren’t the only ones on the pitch, otherwise the San Siro would have been too big.”
Liverpool are still able to show excellent quality in the group stage of the Champions League. The Reds were able to get five wins from five matches which made them manage to ensure themselves as group winners.
As for Milan, the match against Liverpool is very important to make them qualify for the round of 16. A win is needed for Milan to qualify and they also need a draw in Porto vs Atletico Madrid.
