Continuation of the Coppa Italia, Inter Milan successfully beat AS Roma in the quarter-final match, Tuesday (8/2/2022).
The Inter Milan vs AS Roma match was held at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
Inter Milan who appeared impressive managed to force AS Roma to go home empty handed, the Nerazzurri’s score was 2-0.
AS Roma’s goal was immediately broken when the game was only two minutes old. Former AS Roma striker, Edin Dzeko scored a goal by utilizing an assist from Ivan Perisic. Dzeko chose not to celebrate after scoring a goal.
The defeat to AC Milan at the weekend did not seem to bother the Nerazzurri. His attacks seemed unhindered. And before entering the 10th minute, two golden opportunities were born from Nicolo Barella and Milan Skriniar which unfortunately failed to produce a goal.
Roma does not fly the white flag. The fire of enthusiasm is still visible in the eyes of the players. In the 17th minute, Nicolo Zaniolo had a golden opportunity to score but was stopped by Inter goalkeeper, Samir Handanovic.
Trading attacks occurred during the game, but none of them resulted in a goal. The referee closed the first half with the position 1-0, Inter Milan is still ahead of AS Roma.
The match restarted. Despite being in a position left behind, Roma seemed careful and not rash in preparing attacks. They do not want to be missed from the counter-attack scheme by mistake.
Control of the game is still held by Inter, but Roma several times stole the opportunity to score goals. Like in the 61st minute, where Handanovic was again forced into action because of Sergio Oliveira’s shot.
Inter doubled their lead in the 68th minute. Alexis Sanchez managed to break into Rui Patricio’s goal after receiving the ball from Matteo Darmian. His kick from distance made the ball fly like a rocket and hit the Roma goal. 2-0.
Seeing the course of the match, it seems that Roma will find it difficult to catch up. Inter still had more possession than the Giallorossi and won 62 per cent of their individual duels.
The Nerazzurri also seemed to be satisfied with a 2-0 advantage that allowed them to advance to the semifinals.
Until the match ended the score was 2-0 unchanged, Inter was declared the winner of this duel.
