Premier League Results: Man City Win Dramatically Against Everton

Manchester City won a narrow 1-0 win over host Everton at Goodison Park, Saturday (26/2).

Manchester City dominated full possession in the first half but not many chances were created. A goalless draw also decorated the first half.

Manchester City got the first opportunity in the 29th minute, through Kevin de Bruyne’s long-range shot. But his shot was still right at the goalkeeper. 34 minutes, Everton had a golden opportunity to break the deadlock.

Getting a wild ball in the penalty box, Richarlison immediately kicked the ball into the goal. But the ball can still be secured by goalkeeper Ederson. Bernardo Silva also tried to provide a threat to Everton. But his shot from inside the penalty box in the 41st minute was still right at the goalkeeper.

Everton also got a chance in the 45th minute through a free kick. But the ball from his kick still crossed the crossbar. The scoreless draw lasted until halftime.

Entering the second half, Man City continued to try to increase the pressure on the Everton defense. In the 56th minute, Phil Foden’s directional kick could be countered by Jordan Pickford.

In the 68th minute, Pickford again showed his skills as a goalkeeper. Pickford managed to make two saves in a row.

After blocking Kevin De Bruyne’s low shot, Pickford immediately got up and blocked Bernardo Silva’s shot which took advantage of a wild ball.

Man City’s pressures into the Everton defense finally paid off in the 82nd minute through Phil Foden.

This goal stems from a low cross that is released by Bernardo Silva into the face of the goal. Michael Keane didn’t manage to clear the ball well so Phil Foden made the most of the mistake.

Foden had the ball and managed to outwit Pickford from close range. Phil Foden’s goal was the only goal in the match.

Everton had a chance to equalize when Rodrigo clearly did a handball in the penalty box. But neither the referee nor VAR considered Rodrigo’s touch on the ball as handball.

Man City won 1-0 at the end of the match.

Manchester City, which is at the top of the Premier League standings, has successfully widened the distance from its closest competitor, Liverpool.

Pep Guardiola’s team are increasingly comfortable at the top of the table with a difference of six points, after beating Everton 1-0 with Liverpool still have 1 games in hand
