Darryn Binder joined MotoGP class from Moto3 with a lot of controversy. His transition from the Moto3 to the premier class has not always been on his best race behavior. The South African countered these critics and is prepared to silence them with good results.
“For me, it’s a dream come true, everyone wants to run in the MotoGP one day, so you can’t turn down an opportunity like this. It’s the best chance I’ve ever had, so I took it with both hands,” Darryn said.
“There are different comments about this, but I would be an idiot not to accept my life’s dream. I’ve been working towards this my entire career and if someone gives you that opportunity, you have to accept it and make the most of it.
“I’m super happy to go to MotoGP . Obviously people said otherwise, but I really don’t care.” Darryn added.
At the end of 2021, Brad Binder’s brother still decisive in the fight for the Moto3 title. In an attempt to overtake on the final lap of the Algarve GP, Darryn took then-leader Dennis Foggia out of contention and offered the title in Pedro Acosta’s lap.
“I want to leave the bad things in the past and move on. I tried to do that last year, but in the end I made a mistake and everyone pointed their fingers. I’ll just do my best and try to stay away from incidents.” Darryn said.
“I hope I can have some good races, with contests against the competitors, whether they like me or not. At the end of the day, it’s every man for himself out there on the track,” he added.
Darryn has just indicated that he has adjusted his preparation this year. The RNF rider admitted he has changed compared to previous years.
