Barcelona release Luuk de Jong and Adama Traore

Barcelona has officially released two of its players, Luuk de Jong and Adama Traore. Both players have now left Camp Nou and will no longer be in the Blaugrana – Barcelona’s nickname – next season.

“Neither Adama Traore nor Luuk de Jong will continue at FC Barcelona,” a Barcelona statement read.

As is known, Luuk de Jong and Adama Traore have been at Camp Nou on loan until June 30, 2022. Barcelona have now returned the two players to their respective teams.

Luuk de Jong has been on loan from Barcelona since August 31, 2021. He was brought in when Barcelona was still being handled by a Dutch coach, Ronald Koeman, from Sevilla.

Luuk de Jong also played 938 minutes for Barcelona in 29 matches, ten of them as a starter. With a goal every 134 minutes, he became the archetypal super-sub for the team, and helped make Barcelona a much stronger team.

Meanwhile, Adama Traore arrived for Barcelona on 29 January 2022 from Wolverhampton Wanderers. He was introduced on February 2. He has played 826 minutes in 21 games in 2021-2022, ten of which have started.

With the farewell, Barcelona expressed their gratitude to Luuk de Jong and Adama Traore. Because they have struggled to play in Barcelona.

“FC Barcelona would like to publicly thank both of them for their commitment and dedication and wish them luck and success in the future,” Barcelona said in a statement.
