However, Torreira’s agent, Pablo Bentancur, revealed the agreement between his client and Valencia.

Valencia coach, Gennaro Gatusso, through Bentancur, is interested in working with the 26-year-old player.

Bentancur revealed that despite his client’s desire to end his career with the Gunners, Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta still has hope of seeing the Uruguayan midfielder in the Gunners squad next season.

Therefore, Bentancur will try to persuade the management of the Gunners to release Torreira.

“Arteta wants Torreira to be on the pre-season tour. We have had a good relationship with Arsenal. However, we also already have a pre-contract agreement with Valencia,” explained Bentancur.

The collector of 39 caps with the Uruguay national team feels that he has not had the opportunity and confidence to appear regularly with the Gunners.

“I don’t think there’s a chance anymore. From the start, they have said, ‘I have no place in the first team’. So I don’t want to stay at the club. We will try to find a new direction,” said Torreira, who still has a year remaining on his Arsenal contract.

With a transfer value of 26 million pounds, Torreira was recruited from Arsenal from Sampdoria at the start of the 2018/2019 season.
