Ducati Reveals MotoE Motobike for 2023

Ducati Reveals MotoE Motobike for 2023

Ducati on Thursday revealed the electric motobike called V21L, it has a 110 kW (150 HP) engine, a weight of 225 kg and a top speed of 275 km / h. The motobike will be raced in the MotoE class next year.

The Italian manufacturer then took over from Energica as the official engine supplier of that class.

One of the critical elements of the MotoE are the batteries, which are binding in terms of mass and dimensions; here the pack consists of 1152 cylindrical cells of the “21.700” type, has a shape that follows the normal course of the central area of the bike, weighs 110 kg and has a capacity of 18 kWh.

The external casing of the battery pack is made of carbon fiber and is used as a frame, similarly to what happens for the Panigale V4.

The steerer is supported by a monocoque aluminum front frame that weighs 3.7 kg, at the rear there is an aluminum swingarm that weighs 4.8 and has a geometry very similar to that of the Desmosedici MotoGP.

The rear subframe which integrates the tail and the rider seat, in which the charging socket is inserted, is also in carbon fiber.

One of the most interesting points concerns the cooling, obtained with a particularly sophisticated liquid system: it has a double circuit to meet the different thermal needs of the battery pack and the motor / inverter unit, and has the great advantage that it allows you to recharge immediately, i.e. without waiting for the battery pack to cool down; it takes about 45 minutes to reach 80% autonomy.

There will be 18 motobikes on the track at each race weekend, the project is ambitious and goes beyond competitions: it will allow you to experiment with new technologies, train new skills and lay the foundations to create a sporty, Light and exciting electric motobike, when technology requires it.
