Bayern Munich Fiercely Defeats Eintracht Frankfurt

Defending Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich travel to Eintracht Frankfurt for their opening match of the 2022-23 German League competition at Deutsche Bank Park, Frankfurt. Unmitigated squad made by Julian Nagelsmann was successful in drowning the home team with a landslide victory 6-1. Despite being the visitors, Die Rotten’s men dominated the game, they bombarded the home goal with five goals in just 38 minutes.

Frankfurt, as Europa League winners, who next Tuesday will play against Real Madrid in the race for the European Super Cup, have not moved, and have learned a valuable lesson to face Madrid at the Olympic Stadium, Helsinki.

Despite having been left out by their signature bomber Lewandowski, Julian Nagelsmann’s men only needed five minutes to open the scoring. Joshua Kimmich gave Bayern the lead after just five minutes at Deutsche Bank Park with a free kick from 32 meters that hit the post.

Meanwhile, only five minutes later, Bayern defender Benjamin Pavard successfully doubled the visitors’ lead to 2-0. Sadio Mane, making his debut in his first competitive game for Bayern Munich since joining from Liverpool, made it 3-0 just before half an hour. The African Player of the Year completed a delightful cross from Serge Gnabry with a header to increase Bayern Munich’s lead to 3-0.

Die Rotten eventually led 5-0 before halftime. Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry added to the misery of Oliver Glasner’s men in front of their own supporters. Jamal Musiala listed his name on the scoreboard in the 35th minute, after getting a ball from Thomas Mueller who pushed the ball to the left and Musiala easily made a flick on goal, the score is now 4-0 in favor of Bayern Munich.

Bayern is getting crazier. In the 42nd minute, Serge Gnabry carved his name on the scoreboard to change Bayern’s advantage to 5-0 over Frankfurt. Starting from the movement of Sadio Mane who beat Sebastian Rode’s guard in the struggle for wild balls, Mane then sent the ball to Mueller. Mueller’s foresight saw Gnabry in an empty position, then sent the ball to Gnabry who calmly poked the ball past Kevin Trapp. Die Adler, nicknamed Eintracht Frankfurt, who will play in the Champions League this season, was previously expected to give the reigning champions a tougher test in the Bundesliga’s opener.

However, they turned out to be made a month and had to fall behind 5-0 at halftime. Die Adler only improved slightly after halftime when Bayern lowered the tempo slightly. Oliver Glasner’s men only managed to score a consolation through debutant Randal Kolo Muani in the 64th minute who capitalized on goalkeeper Manuel Neuer’s error outside the box to pull one back.

But the Hollywoods were not finished yet, and Jamal Musiala closed the scoring with a brace when he tapped in a fine cross from Leroy Sane to finish the win with seven minutes from time. The match statistics show the dominance of the visitors, where Bayern controlled 64% ball possession with 23 attempts, 10 of which were on target and resulted in 6 goals. Meanwhile, the home team had 8 chances, only two of which were on target with one goal.

The next match for Julian Nigelsmann’s men, they will host Wolfsburg on 14 August 2022. Meanwhile for Frankfurt they only have a few days to fix their game and their mentality after a crushing defeat at home.
Eintracht Frankfurt will battle Real Madrid for the UEFA Super Cup at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki on Tuesday. The match between these two teams was like a rematch of the 1960 European Cup Final.
