Francesco Bagnaia Enjoys Summer Break

Francesco Bagnaia will be more than keen to start racing once the MotoGP summer break is over and competition begins in August for the Silverstone Grand Prix.

The Italian rider is in his fourth season as a MotoGP rider, four seasons in which he has taken seven win on his Ducati Desmosedici to date.

Bagnaia managed to score four wins in 2021 and the counter is at three by the middle of this season.

Prior to the current season, the Ducati rider was arguably one of the main contenders for the world title, but in this battle the Italian suffered some setbacks during the first half of the season.

During the races in Losail, Le Mans, Catalunya and at the Sachsenring, he was unable to make it to the finish due to his own mistake or the mistakes of others.

Bagnaia, who finished fourth in the championship standings with 106 points, is enjoying a very well summer break.

But he has certainly not given up hope yet, despite the fact that Pramac Racing rider Johann Zarco – third in the standings with 114 points – is the best-placed Ducati rider halfway through the season.

“At the start of the season we expected a little more, but it was not easy because during the first Grand Prix weekends there were several technical problems that we had to solve and which we have now managed to solve.” Bagnaia said.

“Since the championship is back in Europe we have made a big step, we have become faster and we have always been at the front.” Bagnaia added.

In any case, the first half of the season, with four DNFs, really do not produce the desired results.

Bagnaia has had too many ups and downs, even having to deal with a lack of concentration when things didn’t go the way they were supposed to, and those are the things a top MotoGP rider can’t afford in the fight for the title.

“The most important thing is that we know that we are fast. In the second half of the season it will be important to find continuity.” Bagnaia said.

“I’ve been really lucky, because my passion has become my job, but it’s getting harder and more stressful.” Bagnaia added.
