Novak Djokovic reveals the key to success

Novak Djokovic stated that he still has the motivation to continue a glorious career in tennis despite admitting that he has achieved quite a lot that he could have achieved.

The tennis player who has bagged 21 Grand Slam titles is one of the most successful tennis players in the history of the tennis world, claiming 88 titles. He has stayed at No. 1 in the world longer than any other player and the prize money he has pocketed is nearly $159 million. He also bagged the most wins against a top 10 player who currently stands at 232 wins.

The tennis player who is in action at the Tel Aviv Open this week, stated that his career success was not due to one particular thing, but a number of factors that helped him to be at the top of the tennis world.

“There is no one secret or one key that solves all problems. A combination of things becomes part of your character, who you are, how you train, what your lifestyle is like. All of that creates an image of success. The formula works for me,” said Novak Djokovic.

Currently ranked 7th in the world, the Serbian national stated that there is always room for progress as he looks to return to the world number 1 currently occupied by 19-year-old Carlos Alcaraz.

“I also tried some new things, because I always wanted to improve. Especially when you find a player like Alcaraz who is still full of energy and adrenaline. So you’re always figuring out how you can improve and take yourself to a higher level,” added Djokovic.

The Tel Aviv Open will be the Serbian’s first singles tournament since he won Wimbledon in July. He missed the hard-court season in North America because he was unable to enter the area after he had not been vaccinated against COVID-19.

He returned to competitive action last weekend in the Laver Cup where he had mixed results after he claimed a dominant win over Frances Tiafoe before losing to Felix Auger Aliassime the following day. He also won the doubles match with Matteo Berrettini. During the team competition, he admitted that he was worried about the condition of his right wrist.

“I’ve been training for 2 hours and it’s fine. I feel good and happy that the injury has now passed,” said Djokovic.
