A shocking weekend it is. Real Madrid managed to beat their guest FC Barcelona with a score of 3-1 in a match titled El-Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Sunday (16/10/2022). It was indeed a good new for all Real Madrid fans.
The Super Big Match, nicknamed El-Clasico, brought together two eternal rivals of Spanish and world football, Real Madrid vs Barcelona. Acting as the host, Real Madrid managed to beat the Blaugrana resistance with a final score of 3-1 where goals were scored by Benzema, Valverde, and Rodrygo respectively, while Barcelona was only able to reply to one goal through substitute Ferran Tores.
Real Madrid took the lead through their captain Karim Benzema after taking advantage of the vomit ball from Vinicius Jr’s kick which was still being held by Ter Stegen, the ball that led to Benzema failed to be blocked by the Barcelona defenders.
Madrid added another goal, this time with a kick from Federico Valverde, taking advantage of Barcelona’s weak defense. In the 91st minute Real Madrid managed to get a penalty after young player Rodrygo was fouled in the penalty box by Barcelona defender Eric Garcia. Rodrygo’s penalty tore through Ter Stegen’s goal and made it 3-1 for Madrid’s advantage.
With this result Real Madrid succeeded in coupling the Laliga podium previously held by Barcelona. Real Madrid is now ranked first with the acquisition of 25 points, 3 points ahead of rivals Barcelona who collected 22 points.
Of course with this result also adds to the trend of a good record for Los Galacticos who have not tasted a single defeat this season in all competitions. As for Barcelona, this was their first defeat in the Spanish La Liga. It’d be interesting to keep watching and monitoring how these two teams will progress further.
