Leicester City Avoid the Relegation Zone in the 2022/23 English Premier League

Leicester City won an entertaining match at Goodison Park on Saturday by a score of 2-0. Youri Tielemans gave the Foxes the lead at the break with a late wondergoal.

Harvey Barnes sealed the win with a late strike to lift Leicester out of the relegation zone.

The Foxes managed to win three out of four possible in the last games, only defeated by the two-time champions City after a poor start to the season, with the first win only coming on the ninth round.

“It is continual growth, it is a long season. After the start we had the players have responded brilliantly and are playing with confidence again,” Rodgers said.

“We just want to keep climbing the table and see where we can finish before the (World Cup) break,” Rodgers added.

The win moved Leicester, who started the day in 18th spot, up to 13th on 14 points after 14 games, level on points with Everton but two places above them on goal difference.

However, Brendan Rodgers’ side can also go down, depending on the results of Aston Villa and West Ham, which on Sunday host Manchester United and Crystal Palace, respectively.

The journey served for now to leave Manchester City in front, after beating, in added time, Marco Silva’s Fulham, in a game of great suffering, in which the two-time champions were still in the middle of the first half reduced to 10 players.

A scenario due to the expulsion of Portuguese superstar Joao Cancelo, but the English champions managed to survive what was predicted to be a disaster and rescued a win in the last minutes, with Erling Haaland scoring the 2-1 penalty.

City now lead the competition with 32 points, one more than Arsenal, who on Sunday visit Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
