In a recent interview with one of her sponsors, the Polish national admitted she regretted that she had never had the honor of sharing the court with Williams.

“If I could face one female tennis legend on the court, it would be Serena Williams, without a doubt. Unfortunately, I have never had the honor to compete against him,” said Swiatek.

The world number 1 also mentioned that she looks up to other tennis stars like Steffi Graf and Martina Navratilova.

“I also admire Steffi Graf and Martina Navratilova, whom I met a season ago, they are great people,” added the Polish national.

The tennis player who has bagged three Grand Slam titles also opened up that he learned a lot from the 2022 season which brought him extraordinary success.

“During this season I learned a lot about myself. The most important thing is that, regardless of the situation, I can find a solution that can change the course of the game. I can also handle the pressure of being world number 1, have all eyes on me and still play freely,” explained Swiatek.

The 2020 French Open champion also mentioned that he hasn’t touched a racket in 12 days and is still enjoying pre-season with his friends.

“Other than travel, I only get six and a half days off. I was at a resort where there wasn’t much to do, so, that kind of made me sit and do nothing. Also need it and feel refreshed,” said Iga Swiatek.

“I spent a total of 12 days without a racket and was at home so I could meet my friends. That’s enough time to rebuild motivation from within me. Returning to the pitch is not pleasant, you feel physical discomfort, your body aches and you have to push yourself to train.”
