Croatia Defeats Brazil Through Penalty Shootout!

The 2022 World Cup quarter-final results between Brazil vs Croatia ended in Croatia’s victory.

Brazil’s move had to stop after being defeated by Croatia on penalties with a score of 4-2.

Previously Brazil and Croatia were only able to draw 1-1 for 120 minutes.

In the 120 minutes of normal time until extra time, Brazil took the lead first through a goal from Neymar.

Until finally Croatia was able to equalize thanks to Bruno Petkovic’s goal.

Thanks to this victory, Croatia ensured a place in the semifinals of the 2022 World Cup and will face the winner of the quarter-final match between the Netherlands and Argentina.

In the first half, Brazil threatened first through Vinicius Junior.

Unfortunately his kick was still able to be secured by Livakovic.

This time it was Croatia’s turn to threaten through Mario Pasalic’s cross into the Brazilian penalty box.

Unfortunately, Ivan Perisic could not master this bait properly so that the ball was swept by Eder Militao.

Brazil continued to pose threats to Croatia’s goal, but there were still no goals scored until the first half ended.

In the second half Brazil again took the initiative to attack Croatia’s goal.

In the first 10 minutes Brazil recorded three opportunities, but none of the opportunities turned into goals.

Brazil continued to block the Croatian defense, but Livakovic was still able to withstand the attacks from Tite’s squad.

The 0-0 score lasted until the second half was over.

Brazil again tried to break the deadlock which finally paid off in the 105+1′ minute.

Neymar was able to outwit Livakovic and change the score to 1-0 in favor of Brazil.

In the second half of extra time, Croatia continued to try to equalize.

Until finally in the 117th minute Croatia managed to equalize through a goal scored by Bruno Petkovic.

The score changed to 1-1 and forced the match to go to penalty shootout.

At the first kick, Croatia through Nikola Vlasic successfully carried out their duties.

Meanwhile, Rodrygo’s first kicker for Brazil was saved by Livakovic.

Lovro Majer and Casemiro, who were appointed as the second kickers, did their job well so that the temporary penalty shoot-out score was 2-1 in favor of Croatia.

On the third occasion, Luka Modric and Pedro were both able to score goals so that the penalty shootout was 3-2.

On the fourth occasion, Mirslav Orsic successfully carried out his duties.

Meanwhile, Marquinhos hit the goal post.

With this victory, Croatia has the right to qualify for the semi-finals after winning a penalty shoot-out with a score of 4-2.
