Caused of Carlo Ancelotti is interested in handling the Brazilian national team and leaving Real Madrid. The Italian tactician is reported to have reached an agreement with the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) for a three-year contract.
According to news from ESPN Brasil on Friday (10/2/2023) evening WIB, Ancelotti will be contracted from 2023 to the summer of 2026. His goal is to appear at the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in three North American countries, namely the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Don Carlo seems to be still in office at Real Madrid until this season ends. However, it is interesting to learn why the Italian coach decided to accept the Brazilian National Team’s proposal while his contract at Santiago Bernabeu is still valid until 2024.
One of the reasons behind his decision may be that Ancelotti realised he was at the end of his coaching career. Don Carlo is 63 years old and throughout his career, he has won many prestigious trophies with top calibre clubs Real Madrid, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
Carlo Ancelotti has won the Champions League trophy four times, with the most recent being in the 2021-2022 season for Real Madrid. It was his second Champions League trophy with Los Blancos – nicknamed Real Madrid – while the other two were won while dealing with AC Milan.
Ancelotti has also left his mark on every country he has visited by winning domestic league trophies. He has won the Italian League, English League, French League, German League, and most recently the Spanish League in the 2021-2022 season with Real Madrid.
With this achievement, winning the World Cup trophy will sweeten his career as a coach. Like Lionel Messi before the 2022 World Cup, it seems that Ancelotti only needs to win the World Cup trophy to establish himself as the best coach of all time.
Then, why the Brazilian National Team? It’s not uncommon for him to choose one of the strongest football nations in the world. Selecao – the nickname of the Brazilian National Team – is the most frequent world champion by winning five trophies. But unfortunately, the last World Cup trophy they celebrated was in 2002.
The Brazilian national team has been through a crisis since then by always failing to reach the final. Once upon a time, the Selecao reached the semifinals of the 2014 World Cup which was held at their home.
However, Brazil was crushed by Germany with a landslide score of 1-7 in the semifinal. In addition, Ancelotti knows the Brazilian national team squad well with the presence of a number of Real Madrid players there. Call it Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, and Eder Militao.
There is also a former protege at Real Madrid, Casemiro, who just moved to Manchester United in the summer of 2022. So, if it is true that Carlo Ancelotti accepts the Brazilian National Team’s proposal until 2026, then most likely he only has one thing on his mind, namely winning the 2026 World Cup. It will be interesting to see how Don Carlo will go with the Selecao for the next three years.
