Week 24 of the Premier League 2022-2023 results have started from Saturday 18 February 2023 to Sunday (19/2/2023). During that time, eight matches have been played, such as Aston Villa vs Arsenal, Brentford vs Crystal Palace, and many more.
First let’s discuss Brentford vs Palace. Taking place at the Gtech Community Stadium, the mid-table team’s match was very exciting.
Both teams appeared extraordinary until they both had difficulty scoring goals. The first goal only came in the 69th minute which was scored by Palace player, Eberechi Eze. Brentford, who almost lost, scored an equalizer in 90+6 minutes thanks to Vitaly Janelt.
Then the battle for fifth place, aka the position to get a ticket to the Europa League next season, is no less interesting. There is Brighton & Hove Albion which welcomes Fulham at the Falmer Stadium.
In that match, Fulham managed to win with a score of 1-0 thanks to a goal from Manor Solomon in the 88th minute. Thanks to that win, Fulham are now in sixth place with a collection of 38 points, one point different from Tottenham Hotspur who are in fifth place.
While Brighton had to settle for sitting in seventh position by collecting 35 points. Competition for tickets to play in European competitions is clearly very interesting.
However, talking about an interesting match, of course, was created when Arsenal visited Aston Villa’s headquarters. The Gunners, who are trying to take top spot from Manchester City, were 1-2 behind the home team in the first half.
Luckily, Mikel Arteta’s troops were able to get up in the second half and scored three additional goals. As a result, Arsenal won 4-2 and succeeded in displacing Man City from the top of the standings.
Man City in another match was held back 1-1 by Nottingham Forest. So, that’s why Arsenal can be two points ahead of The Citizens in the 2022-2023 Premier League standings.
