The Los Angeles Lakers coach Darvin Ham on Wednesday did not let Anthony Davis play tagainst the Oklahoma City Thunder.
According to the Los Angeles Timesz the measure was planned weeks before and was aimed at preventing an injury
“He’s very frustrated. He wants to play, but he also understands the process of preventing a foot injury from getting worse.” Darvin said.
“He happened through a stress spike, so anything can affect him. The more you force him, the greater the wound’s reaction.
“I’m not saying it’s serious or anything like that. He is playing without pain. It is one more thing that we are keeping an eye on and wanting to prevent.” Darvin added.
The game against the Thunder was the day after the Lakers lost to the Memphis Grizzlies, so that’s one more reason why Anthony Davis didn’t participate. Even so, the Californian team still managed to win by 123 to 117.
Dennis Schroder, who is replacing D’Angelo Russell in the starting lineup, sprained his left knee in the game. However, he bandaged it up and returned to the game.
