Gerard Pique warns Lionel Messi about returning to Barcelona. The former Barcelona centre-back warned the superstar not to easily trust Vice President Rafa Yuste.
Rumours of Lionel Messi’s return to Camp Nou have been circulating for the last few months. This is because the Argentine superstar’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will end in the summer of 2023.
However, news of Lionel Messi’s return seems more likely after Vice President Rafa Yuste spoke this week. He confirmed that his party is in contact with Messi’s representatives.
However, Gerard Pique warned the public to be careful with this. This is because he knows Yuste well and the possibilities that could happen in the future may not be as expected.
“I know Rafa Yuste and how he is. He is a very good person and he will always say what you want to hear,” Pique told Mundo Deportivo.
“He is a great person and he will carefully choose the words to be able to convey the things you want to hear,” added Pique.
“Of course, for all the Cules [Barcelona fans], it would be great if Leo came back, but there was a point when he pushed things too hard. It could be counterproductive,” concluded the centre-back, who just retired last November 2022.
Meanwhile, PSG themselves are still trying to keep Lionel Messi, at least for another year. However, Yuste is still optimistic about being able to bring the superstar back to Camp Nou.
