The 2023 summer transfer window is still open and clubs are bidding to and fro for signing up promising players to their sides. Declan Rice from West Ham to Arsenal, Harry Kane to Bayern Munich, Lionel Messi from PSG to Inter Miami, its all happening and the excitement has the fans on their feet.
The most recent transfer news that has hit the circuit is Chelsea star Mason Mount moving to Manchester United. The Red’s have been quite persuasive in trying to get Mount to their side since quite some time now, having already made two previous offers to bring him in, both of which have been rejected by Chelsea.
Now Manchester United have made a third bid for Mason Mount worth £55 million plus £5 million in add-ons, that has been finally accepted by Chelsea. The 21-year-old is one of the league’s most promising players, and once the deal is finalized, Mount will be moving to the Reds till 2028. United have offered the England international a five-year contract with an extra year option.
Mason Mount has been in great form for Chelsea since he joined the club in 2019, having scored 33 goals in 195 appearances for the team. It was only in this past season that he missed out on some action of the domestic season due to injury. Eventually, the Blues has a pretty dismal run in the recently concluded Champions League, where they finished 12th in the league standings,, which is their lowest finish in over 25 years.
On the other side, Manchester United did pretty well in the Champions League this season, finishing in the top 4, taking the third place behind only Manchester City and Liverpool. Manchester United has also unveiled their new home kit this past week for the 2023-24 season today. The new jersey retains the base red colour with black detailing across the shoulders and a red, white, and black striped flat-knit crew neck collar, a significant change from the previous red shit-white collar design the club has been sporting.
