Neymar Jr. is increasingly being rumoured to be leaving Paris Saint Germain (PSG), the club he has defended since six years ago. Responding to this news, Barcelona are interested in returning the Brazilian player to the Estadio Camp Nou.
After failing to bring back Lionel Messi, Barcelona seems interested in bringing Neymar home. It’s just that Barcelona is said to have a number of obstacles to repatriate the former front-line striker.
The reason is, when brought in by PSG from Barcelona in 2017, Neymar broke the transfer record with a value of £ 198 million which remains the biggest transfer of all time. He is also paid fantastically, which is £ 600 thousand per week.
The size of Nemyar’s salary is clearly a big obstacle for Barcelona, which is currently in a bad financial condition. Because of that, Barcelona offered a deal so that PSG would cover half of the Samba player’s salary.
In other words, Barcelona can reach a loan option with PSG with a salary divided by two.
It’s just that, in the midst of this speculation, Barca coach, Xavi Hernandes, who is also a former teammate at the Catalan club, is reluctant to reunite with Neymar. It’s not that I don’t like the deadly bomber, but rather that I have other priorities.
“I was surprised… he wasn’t in our plans. I really like Ney as a friend, but we have different priorities,” Xavi said. The Sun, Sunday (2/7/2023).
Meanwhile, PSG has been willing to let Neymar go and pushed him to find a new club. As well as Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with a move for Neymar.
However, no official statement or agreement has been made between the clubs and Neymar. Rumours about his move from PSG are still vague.
