Harry Maguire’s transfer from Manchester United to West Ham is in danger of being cancelled. The reason is that the club has not agreed on personal terms.
Reporting from The Sun, Sunday (13/8/2023), West Ham’s bid for Maguire reportedly stalled due to personal requirements. This was quite surprising, considering that Man United and West Ham had agreed on the transfer of Maguire.
The 30-year-old centre back will be recruited by West Ham for a fee of £ 30 million. Maguire will reportedly earn around £190,000 per week.
Previously, reports had suggested that the English player’s personal terms would not be a problem. However, it has now made it difficult for West Ham to recruit Maguire.
Recent reports suggest West Ham are starting to turn their sights on a new defender. Odilon Kossounou from Bayer Leverkusen is said to be the target of the club nicknamed The Hammers.
West Ham is claimed to be preparing a bid of 30 million pounds for the 22-year-old defender. Kossounou is an alternative target for West Ham if they fail to get Maguire.
Not long ago, Man United coach, Erik ten Hag, was asked if Maguire was available in the opening match of the Premier League between Man United vs Wolves Tuesday (15/8/2023). The coach confirmed the centre-back was still available.
Maguire still has a contract with Man United until June 2025. It will be interesting to see if the 194 cm centre back will move to West Ham this summer.
