Manchester United are back with a bang with a solid victory over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Tuesday, which saw the Red Devils pick up a thumping 3-0 win. The victory came as a huge sigh of relief for Manchester United following their disappointing defeat at the hands of Brighton last week.
Beginning their 2023 English League campaign with a successful start, Manchester United comfortably defeated Crystal Palace, courtesy of goals by Alejandro Garnacho, Casemiro, and Anthony Martial and some solid defense work. The defending champions have hereby kept the other teams in the league on notice.
Alejandro Garnacho put them ahead in the first half, scoring the openner in the 21st minute with a glancing header past Crystal Goalie Johnstone. This was followed by Casemiro, who converted in the 27th minute to double the lead before the break. Anthony Martial scored the third and final goal for Manchester United in the 55th minute aided by Casemiro’s cross, thus sealing the victory for the Reds!
Playing in front of the home crowd, Manchester United came in with a point to prove this time as their previous 3-1 loss against Brighton at OId Trafford was their first major defeat at home in over three decades, and the defeat also ended their unbeaten winning streak of 20 games at home in the Premier League.
This was Manchester United’s second win in a row after a for Erik ten Hag’s team, which has endured a disappointing start to the season. However, the dominant performance against Crystal Palace following Saturday’s narrow victory against Burnley will give United fans hope the team has turned its form around.
Though the loss to Brighton was a big blow to the Team’s Morale, Man. Utd. is back to winning ways with two back-to-back wins, and now looks forward to defending the title which they won back in February against Newcastle at Wembley Stadium. Manchester’s previous League Cup win ended the club’s six-year wait for a trophy and saw Ten Hag deliver silverware in his first season at the club.
As for Crystal Palace, the club has some homework to do as their league ranking is continuously dropping following defeats previously against Arsenal and here tonight against Manchester United.
