James Harden is close to returning to the Philadelphia 76ers after missing the first few games of the season with a hamstring injury.
He participated in practice on Tuesday and is expected to play in the Sixers’ next game on Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets.
Harden was traded to the Sixers from the Brooklyn Nets at the trade deadline last season. He averaged 21 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 10.5 assists per game in
21 games with the Sixers last season. He helped the Sixers reach the Eastern Conference semifinals, where they lost to the Miami Heat.
“James is close. He’s been working hard, and he’s looking good. We’re just going to take it day by day and see when he’s ready to go.” 76ers coach Nick Nurse said.
Harden is a one-time MVP and ten-time All-Star. He is one of the most prolific scorers in NBA history and is also a great passer and rebounder.
He is expected to be a key player for the Sixers as they look to compete for a championship this season.
Harden’s return is good news for the Sixers, who have started the season 2-1. The Sixers have a lot of talent on their roster, but they need Harden to be at his best in order to compete with the top teams in the Eastern Conference.
“I’m excited to be back with the guys and to get started on the season. I’m feeling good, and I’m ready to contribute.” Harden said.
It will be interesting to see how Harden performs in his first game back. He has had a long offseason to recover from his injury, so he should be well-rested and ready to go.
The Sixers will be looking for Harden to provide them with scoring, passing, and rebounding. They will also be looking for him to be a leader on the court.
The Sixers are one of the favourites to win the championship this season. Harden’s return will give them a better chance of achieving their goal.
