Mauricio Pochettino talks about Christopher Nkunku’s chances of playing in the Manchester United vs Chelsea match, Thursday (7/12/2023). Pochettino said that it was too early for Nkunku to appear because he was still recovering from injury.
Pochettino hopes that the 26 year old midfielder can join the team soon. Of course, his presence will be an added value for the Blues squad – nicknamed Chelsea.
However, he also needs to be careful in giving roles to his employees. He must control so that the players can recover quickly and are truly ready.
“Tomorrow is still too early. We hope [Nkunku will be available] soon. This is about assessing injured players day by day,” said the former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) coach in the club’s official release, Wednesday (6/12/2023) .
“Sometimes, we get excited when we see a player on the pitch, because we want to have him as soon as possible. “But we have to be careful and, of course, when he is ready, he will be with the squad.”
As is known, Nkuku has not performed with the Blues since he was officially recruited last July. Previously he played for RB Leipzig since 2019.
Nkunku himself graduated from the PSG academy starting in 2011. He was also included in the senior French national team and made his debut in March 2022.
Nkunku’s presence at Chelsea has not yet been felt. Pochettino still needs to rack his brains to organize the Blues’ strategy even though he has got new players.
Meanwhile, it is feared that three other Chelsea players will be absent due to injury. The three players in question are Lesley Ugochukwu, Noni Madueke, and Romeo Lavia.
“We hope they will soon be available to train and available for the team,” he said.
