Manchester United is reportedly considering sacking its head coach, Erik ten Hag. This news broke after the elimination of the Red Devils – Manchester United’s nickname – from the Champions League this season.
As is known, Manchester United has just suffered two consecutive defeats in the Premier League and Champions League. In domestic competition, they were destroyed by Bournemouth 0-3 at Old Trafford, Manchester, England on Saturday (9/12/2023).
Meanwhile, in European competition, they were defeated by Bayern Munich 0-1 at the same stadium on Wednesday (13/12/2023). This defeat ensured that the Red Devils were eliminated from the European tournament.
According to the Sport Bible report, Thursday (14/12/2023), Manchester United management is now considering sacking Erik ten Hag. This news spread after a meeting between the club’s new investor, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and a coach.
The report continues, the coach who is thought to have met Ratcliffe is Graham Potter, a former Brighton & Hove Albion tactician. Allegedly, Ratcliffe will choose Potter as if Ten Hag is dismissed.
“Ratcliffe has met with Graham Potter and selected him as a replacement if he sacks the Dutch coach,” wrote the Sport Bible report, quoted on Thursday (14/12/2023).
Ratcliffe, who is also the owner of OGC Nice, previously also wanted Potter to join the club. However, as is known, Potter is still unemployed since being fired by Chelsea in April 2023.
Meanwhile, currently Erik ten Hag will face another tough test after his team’s consecutive defeats. Yes, Manchester United will face Liverpool in the Premier League at Anfield, Liverpool, England on Sunday (17/12/2023).
