Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp, is reportedly going to rest his mainstay player, Mohamed Salah, against Manchester United. The reason is, Klopp wants to share his intensity with the other players on the field.
In fact, Klopp reportedly not only rested Salah. There are a number of other mainstay players who will be rested, namely Allison Becker, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
He planned these changes carefully before the match. However, the actual tactics are of course kept under wraps by Klopp. Remember, this is an exciting moment to host Man United at Anfield.
“Nobody was hurt. Nobody was hurt, so we recovered, went home and went again,” said Klopp in a Man United release, quoted on Saturday (16/12/2023).
“We just want to share the intensity. Would I like to play Joe Gomez 90 or Ibou (Ibrahima Konata) 90 (minutes), if we have the opportunity to do so?” he continued.
“(So I decided) 45 and 45 minutes, the same in midfield. “These changes were planned before the match, regardless of the result,” explained Klopp.
With the conditions above, it will be interesting to look forward to the Liverpool vs Manchester United duel. The match will be held at Anfield Stadium, on Sunday 17 December 2023 at 23.30 WIB.
