Spain LaLiga Results: Dramatic! Los Blancos Win 3-2

Real Madrid won dramatically over Almeria in LaLiga. Madrid was two goals behind the bottomneck team before winning 3-2.

The Real Madrid vs Almeria match in Week 21 of LaLiga was held at the Santiago Bernabeu, Sunday (21/1/2024). Madrid trailed 0-2 to Almeria in the first half.

This match was marred by several VAR decisions. Madrid was finally able to score three goals in the second half to turn things around.

Thanks to this victory, Madrid topped the Spanish League standings with 51 points. They are two points ahead of Girona. Meanwhile, Almeria is still bottom with six points.

Almeria surprised Real Madrid when the match had been running for less than a minute. Largie Ramazani found the back of Madrid’s goal to put Almeria 1-0 up.

Almeria immediately pressed since kick-off. Taking advantage of a Madrid player’s pass error, Almeria attacked and Ramazani finished it off as a goal.

After conceding a quick goal, Madrid continued to apply pressure. Despite appearing dominant, Madrid had difficulty creating clean opportunities.

It was Almeria who doubled their lead in the 43rd minute. Taking advantage of Nacho Fernandez’s imperfect throw, Edgar Gonzalez grabbed the wild ball with a first-time volley from outside the penalty box.

The pressure exerted by Madrid resulted in a penalty in the 57th minute. The referee checked the VAR for potential handball before pointing to the spot.

Jude Bellingham, who stepped forward as executor, successfully carried out his duties. He beat Luis Maximiano to bring Madrid to reduce the deficit.

Not long after, Almeria responded and scored a goal through Sergio Arribas. However, the referee annulled the goal after seeing VAR and stated that Dion Lopy had committed a foul on Bellingham in the process of creating Arribas’ goal.

Madrid finally equalized in the 67th minute. Vinicius took advantage of Aurelien Tchouameni’s cross to break through Almeria’s goal.

The referee did not approve the goal. However, the referee then looked at VAR for a potential foul and Vinicius handball. In the end the referee confirmed Vinicius’ goal.

Bellingham managed to break through Almeria’s goal to put Madrid ahead. However, the referee did not approve the goal because it was offside.

Madrid finally really turned things around in the 90+9 minute. Dani Carvajal found the back of the Almeria goal to complete Madrid’s comeback.

This goal started from Brahim Diaz’s cross from the right side which Bellingham continued at the far post. The ball from Bellingham went to the far post and was struck by Carvajal.
