Kylian Mbappe is reportedly going to Real Madrid. Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) then prepared a plan. Kylian Mbappe has made the decision to leave PSG when his contract at the Paris camp ends in the summer of 2024. According to a BBC report, Mbappe has informed PSG of his intention to leave the Parc des Princes after June 30 2024. European transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, said that Mbappe is completely sure about leaving PSG.
“The decision has been 100 percent confirmed with (PSG President) Nasser Al Khelaifi having been informed today,” wrote Fabrizio Romano on social media. “PSG and Mbappe are now communicating together regarding Mbappe’s departure in the next few months,” he continued. “Real Madrid continues to work to bring in Mbappe,” said the Italian journalist. Sky Sports reported that PSG expects Kylian Mbappe to join Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Moreover, Mbappe’s departure continues to close a chapter in the PSG club’s journey where they have lost two superstars Lionel Messi and Neymar in recent years. Mbappe, in fact, signed a new two-year contract in the summer of 2021 which includes a 12-month extension clause for the 2024-25 season. However, only Mbappe can trigger the extension, not PSG, and the clause’s deadline passed on July 31 last year.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is reportedly a big admirer of Mbappe and he has reportedly been in direct contact with the striker. On the other hand, Fabrizio Romano explained, Real Madrid offered a much lower salary than their offer in the 2022 summer transfer market. “Real Madrid wants Mbappe to join in their current condition after spending years in this transfer story,” wrote Fabrizio . “The contract proposal is already in Kylian Mbappe’s hands,” he explained.
According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG has been preparing plans since December 2023 if Mbappe does not want to renew his contract. The 30 year old man explained that PSG would bring in three star players in the 2024 summer transfer market. “There will be at least three big signings this summer,” said Fabrizio Romano. “Of course, a top player to replace Kylian in the front line, a talented midfielder and central defender will join PSG,” he said.
