Health Update on Kristoffer Olsson

Ex-Arsenal star Kristoffer Olsson on ventilator support due to “acute brain disease”

After passing out at home, Kristoffer Olsson, who began his career with Arsenal and spent three years there, was taken to the hospital and is now on a ventilator.

After passing out at home, former Arsenal player Kristoffer Olsson is now in the hospital on a ventilator.

Olsson, a Danish player currently at Midtjylland, has been identified as having an “acute disease associated with the brain.” The 28-year-old, who has 47 caps for Sweden, was a fixture for Arsenal’s academy teams during his three years there as a young player and made one professional appearance.

On Tuesday, February 20, the 28-year-old Swedish national team member passed out at home. He was taken to Aarhus University Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment and is ventilated. Kristoffer Olsson suffers from a brain illness that appears to be acute and is not brought on by any form of self-harm or outside influences.

Leading medical specialists in Denmark are today under intense pressure to diagnose patients and start the appropriate course of treatment. Since being admitted, Kristoffer has received care from medical professionals in the field while being surrounded by members of his immediate family and some of FC Midtjylland’s employees.

“In order to provide Kristoffer, his family, and the physicians with the peace of mind they need to ensure Kristoffer’s full recovery, FC Midtjylland humbly asks the public to be respectful and understanding.

Naturally, everyone at FC Midtjylland is really saddened by Kristoffer’s unexpected sickness, and we send our best wishes and unwavering support to him and his family. At this time, FC Midtjylland is not making any more announcements, but we will notify the public as soon as we learn of any noteworthy new developments.”

Kristoffer, get better soon! The Gunners shared a photo of him wearing an Arsenal shirt. We hope you heal completely and quickly. “The whole Swedish football community is thinking of you and wishes that you get better soon,” the Swedish national team tweeted. We are also thinking of Kristoffer’s family during this trying time.

Following two trial stints with the team, the midfield player signed with Arsenal in 2011. He was a regular player for the club’s youth teams and made his League Cup debut against West Brom in September 2013 as an alternative. He then went on loan to Midtjylland, eventually making the transfer permanent.
