7 Reasons Liverpool Could Be Premier League Champions 2023/24

Premier League giants from Merseyside Liverpool have a number of reasons that make them have a great chance of becoming Premier League champions this 2023/24 season.

This season, the hunt for the league title promises to be an exciting battle. Very exciting compared to previous seasons.

This season, the hunt for the league title is busy with three racehorses at once. Apart from Liverpool, there are Manchester City and Arsenal.

Currently, Arsenal is in leading position after Liverpool drew 1-1 against City in Week 28 at Anfield. The Gunners scored 64 points, the same as the Reds but superior on goal difference.

The Reds have indeed lost their throne at the top of the standings. However, they still have a big chance of becoming Premier League champions in the 2023/2024 season. What are the reasons? Check out the following.

Anfield Fort

Since being handled by Jurgen Klopp, Anfield has been known to be haunted by opposing teams. It is difficult for the enemy to get points and often they go home empty-handed, aka losing.

Liverpool itself has not lost at home since 30 October 2022! At that time they lost surprisingly to Leeds United with a score of 1-2.

After that, they were unbeaten in 26 matches at Anfield. They recorded 20 wins and six draws, including against Manchester City yesterday.

This season they were also untouched by defeat at Anfield. In the remainder of this season, Liverpool will face Brighton, Sheffield United, Crystal Palace, Tottenham and Wolverhampton.

Fierce Attack Line

Liverpool has a fierce attack line. Currently they have five players in attack who are hungry for goals.

There are Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, and Cody Gakpo. They can all be relied on to score goals.

If one player is absent, there are still other players ready to replace him. This case was proven when Salah was absent for several weeks after being injured at the Afrikan Cup and then injured again against Brentford.

Even when Jota was also injured, the other players were still able to keep Liverpool’s attack line sharp. So far the five of them have recorded 45 goals on the Premier League stage alone.

Surprise from the Youth Players

Liverpool experienced a player crisis recently. Many of the main players are injured, including in the attack line.

Jurgen Klopp was forced to use the services of his young players, aka young players. Enter players like Jayden Danns, Bobby Clark, James McConnell, Lewis Koumas, Kaide Gordon, and Tery Nyoni.

They were played in the match against Southampton. Liverpool also won 3-0 in that match.

These young players were not embarrassed when given the opportunity to play in the main squad. The key was that Klopp decided that the senior and youth teams would train at the same facility in Kirkby. Apart from that, the junior squad also uses the same tactics as the senior team.

Farewell Gift

“I’m speechless, I don’t know how to explain this feeling, but for sure it’s very important for us to show the manager that we are with him for the rest of the season. We want to win everything for him, and for us, and for the fans. “

This sentence was uttered by Ibrahima Konate regarding Jurgen Klopp’s departure from Liverpool at the end of this season. The French defender is very motivated to be able to give a beautiful farewell gift to his manager.

Of course, this is not only felt by Konate. All Liverpool players certainly feel the same way.

Liverpool have presented the Carabao Cup trophy to Klopp. They are now definitely more motivated to be able to do the same thing on the Premier League stage.

Important Players Recover Soon

As previously mentioned, Liverpool was suffering from a player crisis. Because a number of their players were injured.

From the back line to the front, there are players who are injured. These include Alisson Becker, Joel Matip, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson, Kostas Tsimikas, Ibrahima Konate, Ryan Gravenberch, Thiago, Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah, and Darwin Nunez.

The good thing is, Salah, Nunez, Szoboszlai have been able to play again in the last few matches. Likewise Robertson.

Players like Alisson, Matip, Thiago and Jota may be out for a little longer. But Konate will be able to play against Manchester United while Trent, Jones and Gravenberch will soon make a comeback after the international break.

This injury could also be a kind of blessing in disguise, aka a blessing in disguise. Because these players have had time to rest and will be able to perform with full energy for the remainder of this season, when the competition is entering a crucial moment.

The Most Refuse to Lose

Monster Mentality. Liverpool often survive defeat even though they previously fell behind.

The most recent example was against Manchester City. After conceding a goal from John Stones, Liverpool were able to equalize the score through Alexis Mac Allister’s penalty.

Before facing City, Liverpool was able to win 22 points from a losing position in the 2023/2024 season. This number is the highest compared to other Premier League teams.

Liverpool itself has trailed 12 times this season. However, they were able to make a comeback and win six times. In the other four matches they were able to force a draw.

Liverpool also often score goals during injury time. So far they have scored 10 goals in that moment and that has helped the Reds collect seven points.

Compare this with Arsenal who have fallen behind eight times this season. They were only able to comeback twice and lost four times.

Absent from the Champions League

This season Liverpool did not play in the Champions League. The Reds only play in the Europa League.

Playing in the Europa League is not the same as playing in the Champions League. The weight of competition between the two competitions is different.

For this reason, Klopp even dared to rotate. This will be difficult to do in the Champions League.

Liverpool will certainly have an advantage over Arsenal and Manchester City. They must continue to field their best players in order to survive in the competition. This can drain the players’ energy.

However, Liverpool also doesn’t seem to be taking the Europa League lightly. They will try to win it especially because apart from opening up the chance of winning the quadruple, Jurgen Klopp has never collected a trophy in this competition in his entire career.
