Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is optimistic that his team can win at Real Madrid’s headquarters during the second leg of the 2023-2024 Champions League semi-final. He also admitted that he couldn’t wait to embarrass Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu and win tickets to the final which will be played at Wembley Stadium, London, England.
For those who don’t know, Die Roten – Bayern Munich’s nickname – has just been held by Real Madrid with a score of 2-2 in the first leg of the 2023-2024 Champions League semifinals. The meeting between the two teams took place at the Allianz Arena, on Wednesday (1/5/2024).
After the match, Neuer made sure his team immediately forgot about the draw in the first leg. Because currently Bayern are immediately thinking about the second leg match against Real Madrid.
Bayern is determined to win and qualify for the final round. The second leg of the 2023-2024 Champions League semi-final will be played at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, on 9 May 2024.
“We are looking forward to next week. It would be great if we could still reach the final at Wembley,” said Manuel Neuer as quoted on Bayern Munich’s official website, Wednesday (1/5/2024).
The goalkeeper player said he was very happy that his team received extraordinary support in the first leg match. However, unfortunately Bayern Munich failed to achieve maximum results in that match.
“We got huge support and could feel the euphoria. It reminded me of the final against Chelsea. We already got an extraordinary welcome when we arrived,” continued Neuer.
Manuel Neuer said his team really appreciated the great support from the supporters. The reason is, this indicates that they are optimistic that Bayern Munich will be able to reach the final round of the Champions League later.
