Bruno Fernandes is optimistic that the Portuguese national team can have a lot to say at Euro 2024. Fernandes believes this is because of the good results of the Selecao – the nickname of the Portuguese national team – in the qualifying round for Euro 2024.
The Portugal national team carries an important mission at Euro 2024 which will take place in Germany. The reason is, the team made by Roberto Martinez wants to bring home the 2016 edition of the Euro trophy.
Fernandes is optimistic that the Portuguese National Team can realize this mission. The Manchester United captain said that the depth of the Selecao squad currently contains great players.
“I am very confident. “I’m pretty sure that we have everything to make a great Euro happen,” said Fernandes, quoted from the official Man United website, Wednesday (12/6/2024).
“All the Portuguese players in the squad, up to now, are quite confident that we can do great things,” he continued.
Not only that, the Portuguese national team also has a good record on its way to Euro 2024. Cristiano Ronaldo and his colleagues successfully swept 10 qualifying round matches with a win.
“And of course, we have a lot of good players with great quality. “I think we really function as a team and we saw that with 10 out of 10 wins in qualifying,” said Fernandes.
Meanwhile, the Portugal national team is in Group F with Türkiye, Georgia and the Czech Republic. Martinez’s troops will start their struggle against the Czech Republic at the Red Bull Arena, Leipzig, Germany, next Wednesday (19/6/2024).
