Andrea Dovizioso Confirms Comeback as MotoGP Test Rider

Andrea Dovizioso has confirmed his comeback as a test rider in the MotoGP series.

However, the specific team with which he will be associated has not been determined yet.

Dovizioso has had a remarkable career in MotoGP, with numerous achievements that have solidified his reputation as one of the best riders in the sport.

Throughout his career, he has secured 15 victories and 62 podium finishes, establishing himself as one of the most successful modern MotoGP riders.

Notably, Dovizioso is the only rider in history to win a MotoGP race in three different decades: the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s.

After leaving Ducati following the 2020 season due to a breakdown in relations with the team, Dovizioso initially retired from MotoGP.

However, he has expressed mixed feelings about returning and has indicated that discussions with manufacturers were ongoing.

“I am currently keeping all options open. When I decided to quit in 2022, there were also options, but at the time I was not open to it, purely because I just wanted to distance myself from everything.” Dovizioso said.

“But it is of course great that a manufacturer has now approached me again.

“At the moment I have a different view, I am certainly not too old and we will see what the future will bring us. I am ready to return, the door is open.” Dovizioso added.

Ducati seems like an obvious option, especially with the team Gresini, and discussions with manufacturers indicate that the possibility of his return is being actively considered.

Dovizioso’s comeback as a test rider not only signifies a personal triumph but also underscores his enduring commitment to the sport.

His presence in the paddock is sure to inspire a new generation of riders and reaffirm his status as a revered figure in the world of motorcycle racing.
