Even though Honor of Kings was only released globally a few weeks ago, the competitive scene for this game is already very active. This game is certain to participate in the 2024 Esports World Cup, which is currently holding its qualifying rounds to find teams that will go to Saudi Arabia.
Level Infinite is currently holding the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 2 which is taking place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Later, eight teams from the tournament will have the right to appear in the Honor of Kings Mid-Season Invitational which is part of the 2024 Esports World Cup.
There are two teams from Indonesia competing in the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 2, namely Kagendra and RRQ. In the group stage, both of them joined different groups. Kagendra is in group C while RRQ is in group D.
The two teams in each group not only secured a place in the playoffs for this tournament, but also had the right to advance to the 2024 Esports World Cup. That is what Kagendra and RRQ, who represent Indonesia in this tournament, at least want to achieve.
Kagendra, who joined Team Secret and Isurus, succeeded in achieving this. Even though they lost to Team Secret in the first match, Wiraww and his friends recovered in the second match. Kagendra won over Isurus to win the runner-up position in group C and qualify for the 2024 Esports World Cup.
Unfortunately RRQ failed to follow in Kagendra’s footsteps. The king of kings team lost in the two matches they played, leaving them slumped in the bottom position of group D. Their journey has also officially stopped here, even though the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 2 is still ongoing until July 7 2024.
